Geun Lee (Ph.D. in Political Science, University of Wisconsin–Madison) is a Professor at the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS), Seoul National University. Geun has over two decades of experiences in international relations and foreign policy, combining academic research with high-level policy advising. He previously served as a Policy Specialist for the National Security Council (NSC) and President of the Korea Institute for Future Strategies, and held visiting professorships at Kyushu University, GRIPS in Tokyo, Kobe University and Keio University. At Seoul National University, he has served as Director of the Institute of International Affairs, Associate Dean of GSIS, and Vice President for International Affairs. From 2019 to 2022, he was President of the Korea Foundation (KF), coordinating Korea’s public diplomacy around the world. He has also served as Advisory Professor to the United Nations Association of Korea and Chair of the Korean Council of the World Economic Forum (Davos Forum). His research areas include international political economy, soft power, technology & global order, and public diplomacy.
